Virginia Locke Williams, "Ginny," 82, died on Thursday, September 1, 2011. Ginny was born in Pensacola, FL on April 22, 1929 and resided in Pensacola for most of her life. Ginny grew up in Pensacola and attended Florida State University. She had a career in banking for over two decades and retired from AmSouth Bank. She was a member of the Pensacola Pilot Club and the First United Methodist Church. She loved her family and friends and lived a full life, enjoying the last days of her life at Carpenter's Creek Retirement Community. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald B. Williams; father, William R. "Shorty" Locke; mother, Euna B Locke; and baby brother, William Gerald Locke. Ginny is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Fleming and her husband John of Pensacola, FL. She is also survived by loving cousins and other close life long friends. A memorial service celebrating Ginny's life will be on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, Pensacola. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ARC Gateway, 1112 E Fairfield Drive, Pensacola, FL. 32503 or Loaves and Fishes Soup Kitchen, 257 E Lee Street, Pensacola, FL 32503. The family would like to thank the staff of Carpenter's Creek Retirement Community, particularly Tamara, Karen, Lillian, Linda, Maria, Shairoon and Bethany for their excellent care, interest and friendship, and her doctors, Dr. Ferdinand Bumagat, Dr. Edwin Rogers, Dr. Humam Humeda and Dr. Frank Messina for their wonderful medical attention and their sincere care for her over the last 10 years. Mother, I will miss your sparkling blue eyes, your laughter, and your truly unconditional love. |
