David Leonhardt Reinhardt, 80, native of Pensacola, FL passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015. Mr. Reinhardt was born on March 22, 1935 in Pensacola, FL to Alexander Leonhardt Reinhardt and Leona Edna (nee, Deloney) Reinhardt. His grandfather was the Rev. J. F. W. Reinhardt, 2nd Pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was baptized on Easter Sunday 1935 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Pensacola. He graduated from Pensacola High School and from Concordia Lutheran Preparatory School, Austin, TX (1953). He attended Pensacola Junior College (1955) when it was still located off of Palafox Street, and obtained a Bachelor's degree from Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL in accounting (1957). Mr. Reinhardt was confirmed by Rev. Schrader at Immanuel Lutheran Church on April 21, 1949. He married the love of his life, Nancy Jane McGraw of Pensacola, FL at Immanuel Lutheran Church on May 27, 1956. During his career as an accountant, David worked at Saltmarsh, Cleveland and Gund (1957-63), Escambia Chemical Corp. beginning in 1963. Later he worked for L.B. Foster Corp. of Atlanta, GA. He returned to Pensacola with Hector Construction Company in 1970. Finally, from about 1972 till he retired he worked in the Comptroller's Office at the University of West Florida. Mr. Reinhardt enjoyed golf, tennis, table tennis, swimming, boating, crabbing, and all sorts of fishing. He loved catching, preparing and eating Pensacola mullet. He is a life-long and very active member of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, having served as a Sunday school teacher, Congregational President, Treasurer, Elder and choir member for many years. In various congregations in Pensacola and Atlanta. He sang in the Pensacola Oratorio Society. He served many years as Treasurer for the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra. He served as a member of, and in 1962 Secretary of, the Warrington Civitan Club. He was very interested in genealogy and was active in the West Florida Genealogical Society. At his death he was also serving as the President of the Fairway Villas Homeowners Association. |
