Goldie Stamitoles Sauer, of Pensacola, passed away Wednesday. Mrs. Sauer was a native of Wheeling, West Virginia but moved to Pensacola in 1953. She was a graduate of Wheeling College of Commerce. She was employed by Sears Credit Department and was also employed by and retired from the Escambia County Sheriff's Department. Mrs. Sauer was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. She was a beloved sister and aunt. Mrs. Sauer was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Panayiota Stamitoles; siser Irene Foster; and her brothers, William, Emmanuel and Nick Stamitoles. She is survived by her two sisters, Sophia Gavallas and Angela Stamitoles; three nieces and eight nephews. Funeral services will be 1;00 pm Monday, April 12, 2010 at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with Father Peter Papanikolaou officiating. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Waters and Hibbert Funeral Home with the Trisagion service starting at 6:30 pm. In lieu of folwers, memorial contributions may be made to The Greek Annunciation Orthodox Church. Waters and Hibbert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. |
