Jeffrey Charles “BO” Gallo, 53 was called to be with Jesus
Christ Our Savior on April 29, 2024. BO was born in Pensacola, FL to Georgia Varazo Chestnut and Vincent A. Gallo.
BO’s first job was off-shore with his stepfather Mike Schoenberg. BO later received his Captain License for commercial fishermen. BO won 2 Florida State fishing tournaments earning him two boats. Because of his reputation as an expert angler, tournament judges would encourage him not to sign up early for fear it would discourage other anglers.
BO also worked for taxidermist Chad Cooper for 13 years. But of all his accomplishments, he was most proud of starting his own successful business – Gallo Tree Service, which enabled him to buy his own home.
BO loved his companion dog, Violet, who passed away a few months prior to his own passing.
BO was preceded in death by his grandparents Charlie and Lee Varazo, Salvatore and Velma Gallo and his stepfather Mike Schoenberg all of whom played a part in his growing up,
He is survived by his mother Georgia V. Chestnut, his father Vincent A. Gallo, his uncle Sava Varazo, his uncle Allen Gallo, his aunt Claire Gallo, numerous cousins and his stepchildren – Ashley, Samantha and Christopher Davis.
The family thanks Marianthe Brown, Derrick Davis and Jim Waldman for all their love and care. Thanks also go to Anthony Jones for giving BO his last haircut.
Special thanks to Fr. John Kalantzis who made frequent visits to BO offering him Communion and counseling. Also Fr. Sasa Turkic and members of both the Annunciation and St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Churches for their prayers and support.
Active pallbearers will be Angelo Alexakos, Christopher Astudillo, Dennis Robbins, Jim Waldman, Rick Metzger, and Chris Varazo.
Honorary pallbearers will be Constantine Alexakos, Captain Bill Willis, George Makris, Steve Arleo, John Donovan, Constantine Varazo, and Brandon Watson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church at 1720 West Garden St. Pensacola, FL or to a charity of your choice,
