Patrick (Pat) James Schmidt passed away unexpectedly on April 23, 2022. He was born in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, December 13, 1965 to Edward Arthur Schmidt and Marie DePrisco Schmidt, who preceded him in death. He graduated from Fort Walton Beach High School in 1984 and the University of West Florida in 1989. He had a long and successful career in Human Resource Management.
Pat was the most loving of husbands, a wonderful father, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 28 years, Dana (Arnold) Schmidt, sons Jordan and Jason Schmidt, and three brothers: Edward Schmidt, Dean Schmidt, and Joe Schmidt (wife Cissy). He is also survived by his nieces, Katherine Schmidt O'Tool (Casey) and their daughter Charlee Kate O'Toole, Elizabeth Schmidt, and nephew, David Schmidt (Nicci).
The family would like to thank the many angels that came to theirs and Pat's aid: Shelby County and Hoover Alabama Firefighters and Paramedics, the doctors, nurses and technicians in Grandview Hospital Emergency Room and Cardiac ICU, and the gracious nurse who stopped on the side of the road to offer her aid and prayers to someone in need.
A graveside burial ceremony at Saint John's Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Big Oak Ranch (https://bigoak.org), which is a Christian home for children needing help.
While we all may feel that Pat was taken from us before he should have been, know that God's plan for us is always in His perfect timing and not ours. Hug your loved ones on a daily basis and never miss a chance to tell them how much they are loved. |
