Joseph M. Dunn was born September 16, 1880 in Monroe County, Alabama, one of nine children born to
Jacob and Amanda (Average) Dunn. Joseph moved to Escambia county about 1938, working in the lumber
business. The Dunn family lived in the Warrington community, and members of the Baptist Church.
Joseph Dunn married Mittie Nobles. To Joseph and Mittie, three known daughters were born: Sadie, Mrs.
Joseph Sapp, and Mittie Dunn. Joseph Marion Dunn died October 19, 1969, with his obituary in the
Journal Monday, October 20, 1969: "Joseph Marion Dunn, 89, of 221 Broadmore Lane, Warrington, died
Sunday morning in a local hospital...resided here for the past 31 years and was a retired lumberman
..survivors: widow, Mrs. Mittie Dunn; three daughters, Mrs. Sadie Denecochea of San Diego, CA, Mrs.
Joseph Sapp of Las Vegas NV, and Mrs. Mittie Luverne Hill of Pensacola...Walter & Hibbert Funeral
