Motorcycle policeman killed in the line of duty by Arthur T. Bobe, III (18 years of age), who was attempting to rob a diner. Bobe was killed by a second policeman. Hatcher came to Pensacola in 1921 and worked initially as a fireman, then for a bakery. In 1922, he began working as a policeman. He was well-liked by the school patrol. He was survived by a wife, Eunice, and three children: Herbert Jr, Tommy G., and Almedia. |
