T. Shannon Hobgood, 85, of Pensacola died Tuesday night. Mr. Hobgood was a native and lifelong resident of Pensacola. He was the owner of Hobgood Plumbing and Heating Company and had been active in civic affairs for many years. Mr. Hobgood was a Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy serving during World War II. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Elizabeth Daniell Hobgood. Survivors include his wife, Harriet Hobgood; son, Dr. Shannon Randall Hobgood; two step-sons, George Emmanuel of Gainesville and Paul Emmanuel of Pensacola; step-daughter, Mary Davis of Gulf Breeze; sister, Ethel Bonifay of Pensacola; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Hobgood of San Francisco and Cassandra Hobgood of Pensacola; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Harper-Morris Chapel with the Rev. Father Richard Bowles officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Emmanuel, Frank Edmonson, Dr. Paul Baroco, Joseph Emmanuel, John Arden, Frank Almon and Pat Gillmore. Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. The Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Talking Book for the Blind, 200 West Gregory Street, Pensacola, FL 32501; the Lions Club Eye Clinic, 3101 North "H" Street, Pensacola, FL 32501; or a charity of your choice. |
