Harry Miller Caldwell, 80, a fifth generation Pensacolian, died at his North Hill childhood home, June 21, 1995. Born of Robert Campbell Caldwell and Gladys Miller Caldwell, Miller attended P.K. Young School and graduated from Pensacola High School, Class of 1932. He started his business career with Hygeia Bottling Company and later developed a love of printing while working with his aunt and uncle, Frances and George Reed, from whom he acquired Reed Printing Company. Miller served with the Army Air Corps in England during World War II. After the war, he married Christine Barnes and raised four sons, H. Miller, Jr., Campbell West, William H. Thomas and Robert T. Thomas on Alabama Square. While operating Reed Publishing, Miller was active in the Pensacola Country Club and the Mardi Gras groups of Saint and Sinners, Revellers of Ariola and Revellaires. After his retirement, Miller enjoyed time at his home and visiting friends at Krispy Kreme. Survivors include his wife and sons; a sister, Fauntleroy Caldwell Robinson; and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Miller was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Caldwell, Jr. A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. noon Friday, June 23, at Christ Church with Dr. B.M. Currin and Father Roberts Graves officiating. Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangement. |
